Employment in primary schools will be based on merit, Chukwunwike tells youths

The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, has said the employment of teaching and non-teaching staff in primary schools recently by the governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori will be based on merit.

Addressing a cross section of Abuedo Youths Association (AYA) at Viva Palm Hotel, Ubulu-Uku, Chukwunwike urged them to freely apply for the advertised positions if they are qualified, noting that there will be equal opportunities for all indigenes of Aniocha South Local Government Area.

He frowned at what he described as pull-down attitude of some persons in Ubulu-Uku kingdom.

Chukwunwike said God Almighty promotes, stressing that no agenda of wickedness can bring down a person who God has lifted.

According to Chukwunwike, some young people toe the path of mischief because they allow themselves to live as available tools in the hands of mischief makers.

“They tell you to insult your elders on social media. What you don’t know is that the person telling you to insult elders knows how to find his way. You must be wise to know that everything revolves around you. People are watching you. When you talk, you make or mar your chances of success, the family that you come from can either be shamed or honoured by your character”, the council chairman advised.

Speaking further, Chukwunwike explained his meeting with Abuedo youths was aimed at thanking the group for their unflinching support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“This meeting is to thank you for supporting and standing by me”, he said.

The highlight of the occasion was the council chairman’s vow to offset the electricity bill of the community having been informed by the outgoing youth president, Mr. Hillary Ofuani, that residents are finding it challenging to pay the electricity tariff stipulated by Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC).

On their part, the youths took turns to appreciate Chukwunwike’s exemplary leadership, urging him to remain youth friendly.
