Delta CPS, Ahon, urges support for Oborevwori’s govt
The Chief Press Secretary, (CPS), to Delta State Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, has urged all stakeholders to continue to support the present administration of Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for the accelerated realisation of its MORE agenda in the state.
Sir Ahon made the call on Wednesday when he received the Executives of the Peoples Democratic Party,
(PDP), Ughelli North Local Government Area chapter, led by its Chairman, Pastor Kesiena Nuomuodja.
The CPS, who noted that the government of Rt Hon Oborevwori was working extra hard to equitably develop all parts of the state, stressed that work was already ongoing in the Otovwodo area of Ughelli with a view to decongesting traffic on the East-West Road.
He noted that the party in Ughelli North local government area had made slight progress in recent times, but advised that it should redouble its efforts to change the narrative in future elections.
His words: “We must work together as a family to ensure that, in 2027, the PDP wins in Ughelli North. We should not allow the opposition to rear their heads in Ughelli North again. So, we need to talk to our people to support the present administration.
“We also urge you to continue to pray for our Governor because he is a man who loves all and is committed to working for Deltans; so, we have to give him the necessary support and prayers”.
Earlier, the Party Chairman , Ughelli North, Pastor Kesiena Nuomuodja, had said that the Party Executives were on the visit to appreciate the Governor for appointing one of their own as his CPS, noting that the position was well deserved, given the pedigree of the appointee as a veteran journalist, whom he described his appointment as “a square peg in a square hole”.
He further disclosed that another reason for the visit was to collaborate and partner the Ofice of the CPS to improve on the future performance of Ughelli North PDP in subsequent elections.
He reaffirmed the loyalty of the party in the Local Government Area to the present administration in the state by strategizing with relevant stakeholders at the local government level towards 2027 general elections.
