Delta State Commissioner for Works, (Rural and Riverine Roads), Mr Charles Aniagwu, Friday, said the Phase 1 of the Emevor-Orogun road in Isoko North Local Government Area has been completed and would be inaugurated in two weeks time.
Speaking at the reception after the ground breaking ceremony of the College of Health Technology Ovrode, in Isoko North Local Government Area, Aniagwu, lauded the Commissioner for Health, Dr Joseph Onojaeme for his outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the health sector in the state.
He said that the ground breaking for the College of Health Technology, Ovrode was a testament to the fact that Dr Onojaeme was representing the Isoko people very well in the State Executive Council.
He stressed that Governor Oborevwori had immense love for the Isoko people hence he inaugurated some projects in the area during his first 100 days in office, adding that more projects would be inaugurated in the days and months ahead.
According to him, the Isoko people first started showing love to the Governor by agreeing to give their daughter to him in marriage and by voting massively for him in the last year Governorship election.
“In an attempt to reciprocate the love you have shown the Governor, you will recall that during his first 100 days office, Governor Oborevwori inaugurated some projects in Isoko including the Phase 2 of the Okpolo-Enhwe internal roads, administrative building, principal officers Houses among others at the Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro.
“In the midst of skyrocketing prices of materials, I reminded the Governor on the need to complete the Emevor-Orogun road and he immediately directed that the contractor should return to site.
“Today I can report to you authoritatively that in less than two weeks from now, the Emevor-Orogun road will be inaugurated.
“There are many other projects that we are considering particularly in the road sector and we are putting up memos to address them.
“I will also report back to him on the request for the construction of the 3km Ovrode-Aradhe Road to link the Ughelli-Asaba Expressway, saying that the request will not go unnoticed.”
Aniagwu further said that Governor Oborevwori has also ensured the construction of projects for the take-off of College of Medicine at the Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro.
“Today we have witnessed the ground breaking for yet another institution that speaks to the need for our people to have good health.
“I will continue to urge the people of Isoko nation to continue to double their love and support to the Governor for more dividends of democracy,” he said.
On the forthcoming local government elections in the state, Aniagwu urged the people to continue to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidates across Isoko nation and Delta state.
