DRIVERS DUTIES VERY RELEVANT TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT —-AGOFURE

Delta State Transport Commissioner, Mr Onoriode Agofure has described Drivers and their duties as very relevant in the successful running of any Government.
Agofure made the Statement,when he declared opened a one Day compulsory Eye screening and re-orientation Seminar for Drivers in the State Public Service.
The Commissioner declared the seminar opened in the Prof Chike Edozien Secretariat Complex in the State Capital of Asaba.
The Commissioner commended the State Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for the approval and release of funds for the Compulsory eye screening that was used to check common health challenges such as Hypertension,sugar test and other general health talks.
The Commissioner, added that “i have no doubt in my mind that the seminar would improve the Visual acuity and efficiency of all the Drivers that were screened”.
Health professionals were drawn from different areas of specialization.There was a Medical Doctor, Optometrist,Lab Scientist,Nurses and a psychologist that carried out the checks.
Agofure, equally reiterated that,many families have lost one family member to hypertension.
According to the Commissioner,Drivers and their duties, should not be undermined in any way, while he advised the Drivers to be civil and put their anger under checks,even in the face of provocation.
The Director of Mechanical Engineering Services Engr Kingsley Itimi,charged the Drivers to always reciprocate Government good intentions.
Some lecture topics included. Care of the Eyes,Road Traffic laws,as well as Stress Management amongst others.
ln-attendance were the SA to Commissioner Engr Austin Odiete,the functioning Permanent Secretary Engr Victor Omoniyi and other Management Staff.
The highpoint of the seminar was the issuance of free reading glasses and Certificate of participation.
